After an exciting move to coal country, and some substantial changes in life I’m back at it!

I’ll be performing at Hunter College’s “Thomas Hunter Project Space” at 6:30pm on Friday as part of a performance and video collection titled “Everything is Falling Apart.”

This work is breaking pace with my traditional beeps, blips and pixels. The entire audio and visual performance has been designed around the use of “EVP” listening devices, traditionally used by ghost hunters and parapsychologists to help communicate with the dead. hmmmm.

This Friday ( 7/08) at Kung Fu Necktie under Philly’s fabulous Blue line El tracks: The wall of sound you’ve been waiting for!

Pointcloud, Speed Skating, & Music for Headphones. Though getting out-of-genre & playing with these bands has been one of the high-points of the year, it looks like this could be my last Fishtown show for the near future.  I’ll be re-locating to the wilds of central PA, where musicians & visualists hide among the trees, with their MacBook Pros balanced on their knees and … ok, maybe it’s not that remote. We’ll see!

Needless to say; I’ll miss playing in dark places under the El tracks! See you there!

That’s Vaudeville Park, where the roving monthly chip show  I/O will be haunting this month!

This month’s show on July 2nd will include Tony Ness, syl|CMYK, L-Tron… and, oh… yeah gwEm!

Doors at 7:30pm.. The door is to the right of those trashcans Google Maps street-view is so lovingly immortalizing for us. See you in Brooklyn!

As part of Philly Tech Week, I’ll be performing at PhilaMoca on Thursday, April 28 @ 7:30pm.

This show includes music by an0vaChipocrite & Philly fab favorites:  Cheap Dinosaurs! This show’s presented by 8static, Third Generation and PhilaMOCA and begins with an early panel/presentation.

I hope to premier some of my latest work (wonder why I’ve been in the cave so long?) at this show.  Most notably, my first live-coding performance!

After hearing Pointcloud at a recent Fishtown show, I’ve been reminded of my  deep love for all things shoegaze.

I’ll be joining their brethren Philly band  Speed Skating for the upcoming February 1st EP release party, with Pointcloud and Attic Dancers in tow.

I’m very excited about breaking form from my normal 8bit fare.. Expect some new tricks mixed with my traditional breadboard eye-candy. If you want to contact me before then.. I’ll be watching this over & over for inspiration. Thanks Phil Morton. Wish you were here.

In coordination with the December 8static event, I’ve created an “augmented reality” gallery of my visuals throughout Philadelphia. Giant Chip8 Pixel-Corgi’s, Llamas, and other beasties across west Philly and throughought the city!

These virtual designs can be viewed starting today from any GPS & Camera endowed phone running   Apple’s iOS or Android OS. To view it, you’ll need to download a free app from your respective app store called “Layar” and search for “VBLANK” or “VBLANK Graffiti.”

You’ll have to be in the Philadelphia area to see them, and need to be near 8Static for the full parade. More planned to coincide with future visual exhibitions & shows.

I’ll be doing live visuals for this Saturday’s 8static event in Philadelphia, and showing-off my new MIDIo firmware mixed with the set. This new work streams live and recorded video footage through a circa 1977 RCA “Pixie” video emulator on my MIDIo kit circuit.

Saturday should be a killer show with Animal Style, Zen Albatros, my previous partner in crime Natty, and Boston’s Cathode Rays who recently knocked out a new album at their website.

Bring along your 3G phone, & you can also get a view of my recently released “VBLANK Graffiti” Layar 3D augmented visuals. I’ll be lacing the Baltimore Avenue area with 20ft. tall virtual Cosmac style graphics from my set.

In an absurdly UN-video move; I’ll be exhibiting a new series of interactive images at Bambi Project, here in Philadelphia’s NoLibs neighborhood at the Schmidt’s Piazza!

This series is only viewable when the viewer breathes on the mirrored surface of each image. Despite a very 1880’s look, these devices are packed with microcontroller goodness.

This dark series, and images from two more of my “dead-technology” sets will be on display Friday the 1st through the end of the month. The party is on this end starting at 6pm

Info and directions Here!

I will be spending July 16-18 at the Next Hope conference in NYC.

At the top of the todo list? 3 days of wall-to-wall talks by some of the worlds most recognized hackers, and digerati. Oh yeah, and 2 nights of blow-out concerts!

While I’m not spraying video on the walls of the Video Temple, I’ll most likely be found demoing kits and giving impromptu workshops in the Hacker Village’s rendition of Philly’s Hacktory.

Way too much info at the Hope website, so I’ll leave you to them…

VBLANK Video on top of the PECO Building for Philadelphia’s 4th of July celebration! Part of the “Art in the Air” premiere coordinated by PECO and Philadelphia’s Breadboard. Don Miller of NO CARRIER fame and Rachele Riley were also highlighted throughout the night. Philly’s ABC6 also covered the premiere for those not able to brave the heat.
